I was too heavy to jump tandem so I took a morning-long class which allowed me to jump under my own chute accompanied by two instructors.

13,500 feet above ground. It's surreal. You don't have time to consider what you're doing. Step to the edge and you're out. I have a vague memory of seeing the plane distance itself quickly.
